Solent University
Solent University has been a university since 2005. Founded in 1989 as an independent higher education institution, the University's roots can be traced back to a private School of Art in 1856. Mergers between Southampton College of Art, Southampton College of Technology, and Warsash College of Nautical Studies laid the groundwork for what is now Solent University.
